Details:	The Nebraska Trails Council announces a grant program to assist 20 local trail groups and/or local government agencies in sponsoring National Trails Day celebrations. Grants for up to $100.00 for a National Trails Day event occurring on or about June 5. The easy-to-complete application can be filled in on-line, saved, and submitted to: Nebraska Trails Council • PO Box 451124 • Omaha, NE 68145-6124, or e-mailed as an attachment to Karen Anderson. Plan now to host or attend an event in your area. Help others experience the joy of the outdoors. Applications are due to NTC by April 16, 2010. Recipients will be notified by May 2. Details:	On June 5, 2010, outdoor enthusiasts will celebrate the 18th annual National Trails Day (NTD), a celebration of America’s magnificent trail system and its supporters and volunteers. Nationally, more than 1,500 events will take place including trail maintenance, hiking, paddling, biking, horseback riding, bird-watching, running and trail celebrations. Since 1993, National Trails Day has inspired thousands of individuals and community groups to take part in activities that promote healthy living and mental well being, protect green space, educate youth and adults on the importance of trails, and instill excitement for the outdoors.
